Our instruction manual for creating a top notch club:
New Roles
These are the roles that are proposed, they certainly can be mixed and matched, but one key thing is that there are at least five people doing work so we all have time left to build models!!!
Treasurer – Handles the money and state/federal annual report
Programs/Outreach (we have a candidate) – Speakers, First Friday, Bush Library, etc.
Facilities (Adam) – Where to meet
Promotion (we have a candidate) – PSA’s, this web site, Facebook, modeling club and modeling society coverage, local media coverage.
Vice President – Helps keeps things moving, leads liaison efforts with nearby clubs and associations.
and President (we have a candidate) – Strategic, lends a hand where and when needed.
Five IPMS Members
While we don’t have to be an IPMS charter club, it appears to offer more than it costs. Plus, it doesn’t prohibit membership in AMPS nor Modeler’s Without Borders or other associations.
Some Cash
We will need to raise some initial funding to pay for establishing the 501(3)c, and have some money for approved projects (e.g., hosting costs, supplies for special events, deposits, subsidizing officer travel, whatever the “Board” approves.
