Admission to the Event: Free. Standard museum ticketing applies only if touring regular permanent galleries; Library Admission & Veteran Discounts.

Register to Attend, Coach, or Exhibit

We are using a single registration form for all participants, volunteer mentors, and display exhibitors. Please register ahead of time so we can prepare kits, bench spaces, and display tables.

Elect your role on the form:

Veterans & Families (Guests): Build alongside mentors in the classroom. Kits, supplies, and tools are provided at no cost, and you take your build home.
Volunteer Coaches: Guide beginners and youth during 2–3 hour hands-on building sessions. Tools and kits are supplied, but mentors are welcome to bring their bench tools (no painting at this session).
Display Exhibitors: Showcase your completed models. Advance sign-up ensures table allocation (late registration check-in is an on-site contribution to the Library’s donation box).
Donations: We are looking for simple kits, glue, nippers, sanding sticks, matts, etc so that our guests can experience the joy we feel when we open a kit and get started on a build. Cash donations welcome.

Model Exhibition Guidelines:

This won’t be a contest, it will be display only.

This is a display-only, non-judged showcase designed to share the craft with the community. In honor of President Bush’s service and interests, display themes include:

WWII Pacific Theater: Aircraft, warships, armor, and dioramas
Civilian Automotive: Stock, custom, and race cars from the 1930s through 1990s
Real Space Exploration: Crewed and uncrewed hardware through the 1990s
Sci-Fi / Pop Culture: Star Wars universe builds

Note. All exhibitors must sign up for free in advance. The “late fee” is a small cash donation to the Library’s Offer Box onsite
